There’s a new rhythm rumbling around the world called Zizek and it’s calling a very eclectic crowd to its tribe. From cowboy wearing Texans to Colombian beauties, it’s representing an international language, where the deep pumping sounds remind us that there is fire within us all. It’s raw and alive.
Wayne Pate — aka Good Shape Design — is pretty inspirational. He worked his way up from a freelance designer, to having his own label, and starting Good Shape Design, to selling both his own work and the work of others; the most notable being Cody Hudson. He sells prints, homewares and artwork which are beautifully framed and presented.
Illustrator Paul X. Johnson’s portrait of Rachel from Blade Runner really was the piece that won me over, but the rest of his noir-ish work is pretty spectacular too. Read more

I don’t do yoga. I have nothing against it, but it just seems a little too new agey for me. However, if I do eventually try it, I’d like the instructor to put on Fabio Orsi’s moody, ambient, drone experiments. Using piano, guitar, percussion, field recordings, and various sampled elements, Orsi creates some beautiful, meditative pieces that, while undeniably fruity, are still weird enough to hold my interest.
