The debut album from Danish duo, Syntaks, is called Ylajali and is a sublimely glitchy, melodically wavering, synth-driven piece of pure sonic bliss. But don’t take our word for it. Think Boards of Canada, think Solvent. Or don’t think at all. Just switch off and slowly drift away. Brooklyn illustrators Jordan Awan and Morgan Elliott have teamed up to create Springtime Studio. Their ‘official’ site is in the works, but they have a wonderful blog, In Bloom, up and going already. It’s already teaming with fun doodles and recent work.
Dutch designer Sam van Veluw’s P-Tree is a pretty awesome alternative to standard port-o-potties. On top of that, it allows men to tap fulfill the primal urge to pee on trees without any of the mess. Too bad there’s no female version.

Down with OCD? Well, well so are we! And, so is this guy, who was nice enough to share some found photos and post them on his Tumblr page.
Named after the first openly gay politician in US history, Harvey Milk make some rather testosterone-heavy tunes. While appealing mostly to the stoner-rock and indie-metal set, the quintet from Athens, Georgia, aren’t afraid of a little melody, as the almost pop track Motown on their latest album, Life … the Best Game in Town, proves. But more often than not, the band gets down and dirty with some knuckle-dragging sludge rock. Amid the haze of searing guitar squeals, menacing power chords, and seismic bass rumbling, though, are some almost math-rock flourishes that hint at the brains behind the brawn.
Swedish designer Paula Hagerskans has a cool masculine-edge to her female fashion lines. But it’s her attention to detail that really blows my mind. Her perfectly tailored jackets, along with her flat dress shoes, make dressing up fun, comfortable and classy. When asked what she keeps in mind while designing, Hagerskans responds, ‘Bohemic music lovers, humor, graphic design and the female body’.
