If there is such a thing as a collective unconscious world, then the octopus is spooking around in there for quite a while now. The amount of weird squid photos and drawings I have seen in the past twelve months surely is amazing.

As an example to underline my theory, I have collected for you this fine specimen of octopus weirdness that recently popped up in one of my social media dashboards. Where it comes from exactly, and who has drawn it, I don’t know. And I am not sure I want to know. One thing’s for sure: the artist either has an amazing humour or he needs help. Or maybe both!

From the WTF files, some dental students in Japan are practicising their oral techniques, as well as their people skills, on hapless Sex Dolls created by Yoshida Dental Manufacturing. The Hanako Showa 2 comes complete with tongue and cheeks (tongue in cheek?) and punctuates its time in the dental chair with an array of human emotions and expressios, such as ‘blink, cough, sneeze, choke and move its eyes’. Surreal!. Perhaps one can take my place for my next check-up.
