I moved to Newcastle late last year, though I still do a lot of work in Sydney. What a great city Newcastle is. It’s been breath of fresh air for me. For the first few months, I worked on Lost At E Minor and our online pubishing company, Conversant Media, from home. The development lists an impressive array of green designs, including living walls and a five-acre green roof, and effortlessly succeeds in that all important eco-feature of blending in with its surrounding environment. The indie, electronic pop duo Plastic Operator paired up whilst studying audio production at London’s Westminster University. In 2004, they released their first three track EP. Their music reminds me of bands like The Fashion, Crystal Castles and Cut Copy.
This weird creature is BuBo, born in the studio of Meritxell Duran in Barcelona, Spain. Bubo is happy hanging from the shoulder, playing inside with cell phones, keys, wallets and pens, and is made of natural latex in four different colors.

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery. It’ll be well worth the trip out west of Sydney: the Australian, Japanese, American and European cast reads like a warriors of street art roundup and includes Mike Giant, Ed Templeton, Anthony Lister [artwork above], Ozzie Wright, and Jonathan Zawada.
