<p>His films often reference his hometown and elements from his childhood. Some of his features include Careful about an Alpine Village, and its constant fear of succumbing to an avalanche; The Saddest Music in the World, a depression era tale of a beer baroness creating a contest in order to seek the saddest music in the world; and My Winnipeg, a man’s love/hate story for his hometown.</p>
