Belgian artist Wim Delvoye (who famously tattooed a bunch of pigs) created a shit-making machine called the Cloaca Machine that pumps out rather hefty logs of brown stuff. A couple of days ago, Sotheby’s put a piece of Delvoye’s shit on auction for 2,000-3,000 GBP.
We just got access to some more amazing macro-photos of Dr Gary Greenberg’s Grains of Sand, which show their magnificent colours, shapes and textures when viewed at a magnification of over 250 times real life. As Dr Greenberg says: ‘It is incredible to think when you are walking on the beach you are standing on these tiny treasures’. Read more

There’s no shortage of bands channeling the surf rock and psych of the 1960s, but the Super Vacations’ sloppy vocals, drunken guitar riffs, and blown out production give them a knowing swagger that has as much in common with Beat Happening and Thee Headcoats as with the Pyramids. They seem to take pride in how bad they are live, but their debut record shows a lot of potential.
