The brilliant video for the We Have Band song, You Came Out, was directed by David Wilson in collaboration with Fabian Berglund and Ida Gronblom from Wieden + Kennedy. The music is a fun electronic mix, and the video was shot over two days using 4,816 still images.

 

Drawing from her experience as a printmaker (she was one half of Scotland-based printmaking duo Whitehaus), Cody Cochrane, now residing in her hometown of Toronto, makes amazingly layered and ornate paintings and murals that often incorporate Native American motifs with bizarre sexual humor. Part of me wishes this game was about tanks that get drunk and take off their clothes, but really, it’s a simple game where you shoot other tanks and collect power-ups and stuff.

Oh boy, this is fun. Omaha’s Tilly and the Wall are kitsch-cool-camp-vauderville meets pop-folk-flamenco, with a tap dancer for a drummer and some serious, serious charisma for a calling card.

For a lark, I spent last night cruising Worth Street in West Palm Springs, Florida, the longest, cleanest, most deserted street I’ve ever seen, which is jammed with a string of high-class stores, flogging everything from travel jewellery (for the terrified billionaire), to sweaters and blazers in every colour imaginable. That’s right, who said The Rich had poor taste?

Fashion blogger Tavi is biting, witty, articulate, and stylish for any age. The fact that she’s only twelve makes her kind of over-the-top amazing. Already an accomplished photographer and astute critic of all things wearable, the sarcastic pre-teen is probably sick of being described as precocious, but she’s the very definition of the word.

Things continue to improve for New York’s metal scene, if Batillus are any indication. The sludge/doom trio from Brooklyn offer crushingly heavy, down-tuned and down-tempo instrumental riffage that sounds like what a mutant that has crawled out of Newtown Creek might have on his iPod. The band recently added vocalist Fade Kainer of Inswarm (Jarboe’s touring band) to its line-up.

The scientists explored the surface of our moon until they stood facing the foreboding presence of The Lunar Crystal. The two men stood in awe of the crystal’s existence. They stared without tact; oblivious to the inquisitive voices on the other end of their earpieces.
