I don’t think School Knights were striving for originality when they wrote this song. By naming this track Fuck The Beach, this Colorado act are learly more than aware of the genre they fall into. But despite the song’s generic prowess, this really is a lot of fun to listen to. Much like the fuzzy pop-punk sound of the second Wavves album, Fuck The Beach follows a similar formula: the echoing ‘oohs oohs’, the abundance of cymbal thrashing, the distorted bar chords. An instant summer hit.

I’ve been admiring the work of Portland illustrator John Klassen for a while now. I’m irrepressibly drawn to his muted, textured landscapes, in all their mysterious glory. I like comedy that pushes the boundaries in strange ways. Fonejack is one underground unit that have had me rolling around on the floor with their real life skits. Read more
While I’m sure we’ve all considered jumping into a frothy pool of beer, apparently a Beer Spa is actually good for you, with a healthy boost of B-vitamins and minerals in the hops and the giant stein soak could just help your skin. Yup, we agree, trust the Czechs to invent this boozy relaxation! Read more

TheStar69 track So What Is The News is the very personification of great pop. In fact, it takes bits and pieces of the best music the The Cult, Hall & Oates and The Steve Miller Band ever recorded and messes it up with a well-honed, Scottish sense of mischief. We like.
Ever get that perfect casual jumper, but wished it had a hood? Well, Coal Headwear has produced the opposite to everyone else: not a jumper without a hood, but a hood without a jumper.
