However, in response to time lag and a lack of consultation, a residents group launched a virtual design competition for the area in Second  Life.  <span id="more-3042"></span>People from all over world contributed designs which was ultimately won by a French team, <a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6250266.stm" title="piper pitney" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Joshua Culdesac and Piper Pitney</a>.  They won 275 000 linden dollars (785 euros) and their design is displayed on an island in Second Life.   <font size="2">    </font></p>
