This guy put an abrupt end to a 10-hour long pay-it-forward streak at Starbucks, and we think he’s great

Milo Sumner Contributor

By Milo Sumner in New Trends on Thursday 28 August 2014

So everybody is probably familiar with the current trend of ‘paying-it-forward’ in coffee shops. Essentially it’s a self-propelling chain of charity in which each person in the queue pays for the drink of the person behind them. A beautifully simple idea and altruistic to boot, but maybe it’s not so great…

20 women re-enact the famous scene from When Harry Met Sally and freak out the unsuspecting diners around them

Lost At E Minor Contributor

By Lost At E Minor in Video on Tuesday 19 August 2014

The reactions of those poor unsuspecting diners around them are priceless! New York-based Improv Everywhere struck in a REAL BIG WAY late last year with this stunt where they discreetly planted 20 women in conversation with their male cohorts in the same Manhattan deli that the original scene was filmed in and let, erm, Mother Nature gradually take its course. Of course!

This video of real women reading out real messages from Grindr, SCRUFF, and GROWLr is hilarious

Zolton Editor

By Zolton in Video on Tuesday 19 August 2014

Hahaha! We just choked on our cornflakes. We know people get cheesy, risque, rude and shockingly forward on hook-ups sites such as Grindr, SCRUFF, and GROWLr, but really, this …? THIS. Somehow when those same lines are read aloud by everyday women, they just seem pathetically hysterical.

Photos taken by ultraviolet camera show us that we should ALWAYS wear sunscreen

Zolton Editor

By Zolton in Video on Saturday 16 August 2014

It seems Mary Schmich, via Baz Luhrmann, was right all those years ago when she famously stated in Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen): ‘Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99; If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it‘. Thomas Leveritt has opened all our eyes again to the damaging effects of the sun on our unprotected skin by getting strangers to stand in front of his ultraviolet camera to show them just how drastic their sun damage already is. Just look at all those invisible freckles appearing!

This dog has a heart of gold: desperately tries to save fish by splashing water on it

Zolton Editor

By Zolton in Video on Thursday 14 August 2014

This all happened on a pavement in the city of Phetchaburi, Thailand, where a particularly nurturing dog came across an unconscious (dead?) fish in need of salvation. And help it did. Somehow cognizant of the fish’s needs, the dog was filmed frantically pushing small puddles of water towards its new friend in need. Sadly, all […]

This girl walked the streets of France in body-painted jeans and no one batted an eye

Zolton Editor

By Zolton in Video on Wednesday 13 August 2014

We’ve become so used to NOT looking that even a beautiful young lady wearing bod-painted jeans and sauntering down the bustling streets of Lille, France, fails to attract any attention – or stares. Model “Marie” was filmed by Belgian students Sarah Baboro and David Lesagewearing wearing just a thong. And she totally gets away with […]

You won’t believe the lengths this Beagle goes to to steal chicken nuggets from the oven

Zolton Editor

By Zolton in Video on Saturday 2 August 2014

This video has been doing the rounds lately on YouTube and it’s not hard to see why: deceptively titled, Lucy the Beagle gets into a 325 degree oven to retrieve some chicken nuggets, it’s not quite as easy as that. You see, first she has to move some furniture around to enable the great nugget heist. Then she has to nab the nuggets and wrangle them to the safety of the floor.

This is the moment that openly gay NFL player Michael Sam found out he’d been drafted by the Rams

Lost At E Minor Contributor

By Lost At E Minor in Video on Tuesday 13 May 2014

Of course, it attracted its fair share of closed minded reactions (we’ll leave it to you to add in more strongly worded language), but we couldn’t help but be moved by the raw emotion displayed by brave NFL recruit Michael Sam upon hearing for the first time that he had been drafted by the St Louis Rams.

Do baboons really raise dogs as pets? Really? Really?

Annie Churdar Contributor

By Annie Churdar in New Trends on Thursday 14 November 2013

This video bothered me so much when that big, stupid baboon stole a helpless puppy from its family. I gradually felt better as the video continued and the poor pup wasn’t made into its dinner. The narrator claims that baboons actually steal puppies to keep as pets, just like humans. I’m not sure I buy […]

Disturbing video of Jellyfish hunting robot chopping up jellies

Annie Churdar Contributor

By Annie Churdar in Tech on Wednesday 13 November 2013

Apparently South Koreans are amassing a large army of jellyfish chopping robots to swim in Masan Bay. I guess they have way too many jellyfish because this is a fairly extreme measure. They even built a whole new breed of killer underwater robot creatures. Who has time to be afraid of Jaws anymore with this […]
