Bizarre 19th century Victorian ‘photshopped’ images

If you thought manipulated photographs were a relatively new trend, you haven’t seen these bizarre Victorian ‘photoshopped’ images. In the 19th century, photographers made these sensational photo composites using parts of different negatives. Images of headless people holding their own heads were very trendy at the time…kind of like the equivalent of the modern day ‘duck face’.

What’s kinda amazing about these photos which recently ran on the How To Be A Retronaut website is how similar the wives look to their hubbies. Must have been something in the water back then.
