In this submission the architects decided to take the opportunity to bring the farm back to the city, though in this case stretch it vertically. Dan Wood and Amale Andraos, a husband and wife team, are interested in urban farming and ways to cut food miles. Put together by New York Real Estate, the brief involved no client and required only that the result include a residential component and that it more or less meet zoning requirements. We could handle one of those briefs any day.
