I discovered the most amazing place while visiting Madrid. This ancient food market, born 1916, with its iron architecture designed by architect Gustave Eiffel, became a space of multiple destinations in gastronomy. Within its 33 stores, beautifully arranged and decorated products are sold from amateurs hobbyests to chefs: from cheeses to wines, paellas, burgers to icecreams for local consumption (tapas). It’s both a very special gourmet market and tourist attraction in the historic Plaza de San Miguel.
