Norman Saunders was one of the most celebrated pulp artists of the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s, and ’60s, with his images adorning the covers of thousands of comic books, dimestore paperbacks, and trashy men’s magazines. The Illustrated Press has just published a retrospective of Saunders’ work. Read more

Having just finished a collaboration with Marchesa, jewellery designer Pamela Love’s gothic-inspired line has been picked up by the likes of Erin Wasson, among other celebrity fans. Referencing both nature and science, Love has created a line that is both rock n’ roll and earthy, with talons, claws, peacocks, rams and bear heads all featuring heavily.
There is something vaguely haunting about the work of Katherine Guillen. Her moody palette and chaotic patterns depicting the topsy turvy, dream-like world of her imagination and are just stunning. Read more
I’m enjoying the writing on the recently launched The Epi-Cure blog, which discusses the ‘latest scientific studies on health and nutrition’, and features interviews with ‘expert scientists, dieticians, and nutritionists’. I don’t get Flight of The Concords. I just don’t find it funny. I also don’t get most comedy these days. It’s so derivative and clichéd. Everyone wants the same laughs.
