For all you Polaroid fans out there, it is time to dig up your beloved instant film cameras from storage that was once so close to being extinct. After acquiring Polaroid’s factory and equipment in The Netherlands, The Impossible Project’s promise to bring the instant back to photography is finally here. Stocking up (and selling out swiftly) their online store with old school and new school Polaroid cameras, and more importantly, film compatible with the much loved SX-70 Land Camera, the Impossible Project is worth keeping an eye on.

Hailing from The Netherlands, Chris Berens works predominantly with ink, varnish and acrylic. Although, by his own admission, his paintings are not made with a particular message in mind, he works from recollection to create his very personal and intimate images. ‘I treat every painting as I would a diary’, he says, ‘in which I paint my thoughts and feelings’.

The latest band to make LA proud is tropical-nu wave act Abe Vigoda. These guys are so new and so exciting that even your grandparents don’t know who they are. Yet! They describe themselves as tropical punk, but I like to think of them as nihilistic rockers — no form, no shape, just chaos. If LA’s new breed of punk popstars such as Health, Meiko Meiko and Pocohauntas make you tremble, then this band are sure to get you very worked up.

Inspired by the unique digital clock apps created by the designer, Sean Zoega, the i-toc watch is a colorful physical manifestation of digital ideas featuring bespoke two-disc Japan quartz movement. The outer gradient displays the minutes while the inner gradient shows the hours. The rings interact, creating an ever-changing pattern of design and colour.
