The original modfather Paul Weller had reputation for being a little stand-offish in his younger years, a prickly, unsmiling veneer that manifested itself most prominently in his uncompromising yet wonderfully melodic music for The Jam and, later, the Style Council. This brief interview on Swedish television shows Weller at his acerbic best.
I love the subtle colours and sense of quiet introspection in the photographic work of San Francisco-based Elena Kulikova. Her portraits, in particular, capture moments when you sense a little secret has been whispered, but only a few ears have caught it.
