The woman John Lennon could never get. That’s Astrid Kirchherr. The man who could? Stuart Sutcliff, the fifth Beatle. What story is more interesting than the rise of the Fab Four? The story of the Fab Fifth: Stu and his lover Astrid. Germany 1960. She’s a photographer, he’s an artist and bassist in the soon-to-be biggest band in the world.

She creates the ‘Beatle Haircut’ in iconic pics for the band, he leaves the band to paint in her mother’s attic and pursue his love for her. This is all told in beautiful monochrome hand-drawn frames by Arne Bellstorf.

Jim Carrey is a master jokes man. I have loved him ever since I saw The Mask in the cinemas many years ago. I have also loved The Beatles since before I was born, when my dad would play them over and over. So what would happen if those two things combined: Jim Carrey in his comedic mastery and The Beatles’ brilliant song I Am the Walrus?
In reality, he (reportedly) smoked lots of weed, fathered illegitimate children, and slept with his guitarist wife. He also made some of the most fucked up albums I’ve ever heard, taking the sounds of Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel and mixing it with the good word. Charles Thompson of the Pixies lists him as a hero. (‘Come On Pilgrim’ is a line from a Larry Norman song)

Mico Toledo (the creator of Music Philosophy) takes lyrics that people submit to the site and turns them into striking imagery. With lyrics from bands like The Beatles, Radiohead, and even Jay Z, you are sure to find something that fits your taste. Order a poster and get ready to make all of your indie friends jealous. Or in my case, Justin Bieber fans — Biebettes, for short.

Much like the beautiful, thumb-sized songbird from which the band derives its name, the music of Ortolan possesses the kind of startling beauty that reintroduces wonder to the weary. With playful lyrical themes ranging from sandcastles to buckets of light to fanciful creatures following you home, it s music with sass and spunk, born from fierce imaginations and young hearts just as enamored with the classic sounds of The Ronnettes, The Shirelles, The Beatles and Motown, as with modern songwriters Regina Spektor, Feist, and Joanna Newsom.

Beatallica is a crossover American band that plays songs of The Beatles with a Metallica touch. Formed by Kliff McBurtney, Jaymz Lennfield, Ringo Larz and GRG Hammetson, a non-commercial policy has ruled the band since 2004 in order to avoid lawsuits from the original bands, though apparently, the members of Metallica support the band and they have spoken very highly of their music. The lyrics of the songs and the names of the albums are also altered just enough to be appropriate with the heavy metal style, with albums such as The Grey Album (2004), Sgt. Hetfield’s Motorbreath Pub Band, and the latest, All You Need Is Blood. Listen to their song, I Want To Choke Your Band below.
