The story of the Fab Fifth: Stu and his lover Astrid. Germany 1960. She’s a photographer, he’s an artist and bassist in the soon-to-be biggest band in the world.

She creates the ‘Beatle Haircut’ in iconic pics for the band, he leaves the band to paint in her mother’s attic and pursue his love for her. This is all told in beautiful monochrome hand-drawn frames by Arne Bellstorf.

In reality, he (reportedly) smoked lots of weed, fathered illegitimate children, and slept with his guitarist wife. He also made some of the most fucked up albums I’ve ever heard, taking the sounds of Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel and mixing it with the good word. John Lennon denied this track was ever about LSD. Really? Well, ok. Whoever created the Yellow Submarine animation was certainly, ah, influenced by the pleasures of the time. Lennon instead claimed that the song was based around a painting his young son Julian did of his childhood friend, Lucy O’Donnell, who sadly died from lupus disease a few months back.

Beatallica is a crossover American band that plays songs of The Beatles with a Metallica touch. Formed by Kliff McBurtney, Jaymz Lennfield, Ringo Larz and GRG Hammetson, a non-commercial policy has ruled the band since 2004 in order to avoid lawsuits from the original bands, though apparently, the members of Metallica support the band and they have spoken very highly of their music. The lyrics of the songs and the names of the albums are also altered just enough to be appropriate with the heavy metal style, with albums such as The Grey Album (2004), Sgt.
