Shot in Sydney in this dark, suspenseful short a man goes to work on the same road and does the same things every day. Once he is forced by circumstance to take a different route. This route leads him to a house. Something makes him to go in. Inside he is going on an increddible journey, which might be real or not. In the end he must decide what it was, and if things are going to stay the same.

The Deadskin video was made by a friend of ours, Shaw Petronio. He has previously made videos for the band Sparks and Ben was involved in the live VJing performance on some of their tours. With a nod to Terry Gilliam, Shaw uses a cut-up animated puppetry style against a backdrop of film collage to convey an alienated souls’ indifference to a major catastrophe.

Joe Fenton has had a string of successes that any artist would give his right hand for: working with the likes of director Terry Gilliam (Brazil, 12 Monkeys) as a film concept designer and sculptor as well as with companies like Disney and Miramax.

He’s a children’s book illustrator, and oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he only started drawing a year and a half ago and is already making murals that would blow Hieronymous Bosch’s mind were he still alive and kicking. Holy crap, I’m envious as hell.

Christian Northeast’s work often reminds me of Terry Gilliam’s. It has a much more vaudevillian/Americana feel to it, and he incorporates a lot more original work into his collages.
