PRAF by Laura Vargalui (PRAF is the Romanian word for DUST) is a t-shirt label for all the wallflowers, sideliners and heart-wasted people. The tees are made of flanelette. The same fabric was used in our childhood when we were babies, so the concept is related to those very pure moments.

The N-spired Story just launched Chapter 4: Escaping Fate, an amazing story about Henry Ziegland who, in 1883, thought he escaped his fate when he dodged a bullet with his name on it.

That same bullet got lodged in a tree and was stuck there for sixteen years. When Ziegland decided to knock down the tree with dynamite, fate finally caught up with him, as the bullet shot out due to the explosion and killed him.

A mobile phone and a t-shirt. That is all you need to read The N-spired Story: the first ever interactive book written by the world. Through the website, anyone can share a story, an idea, a personal experience, or anything else worth telling.

Each month, the users on the website vote for the most inspiring story and an up-and-coming artist turns it into an innovative design on a limited edition t-shirt. Using image recognition technology and a mobile phone, the art on the t-shirt comes to life and becomes a video, photos, augmented reality, and much more.

I had a dream once that I was in one of Thomas Kinkade’s cottage settings, only instead of being pastel and pleasant, it was full of flames and people running for their lives screaming. Years later, I’m still not sure what that was all about; except that I’m afraid of country settings and that my fear of not being able to prevent a forest fire might come true!

All that aside, I couldn’t help but smirk a little when I saw this shirt on Threadless, titled Firelight Cottage and designed by Nathan Stillie. The image of a robot destroying what looks to be like The Painter of Light’s home settings is probably every art school student’s dream, and yet it was my nightmare come to life. A nightmare I bought for only $15.

Ok, so that’s me up there on the right. Yup, rocking out in the 55DSL tee and feeling a little pleased with how it’s all going down. Well, actually, a disclaimer: it’s not … quite … me. I mean, I’m wearing the same shirt right now as he is, and I’m kinda the same height. But he isn’t the same person. We aren’t one. But I love this 55DSL shirt in the same way that he … ummm … loves himself. So I guess that we’re both damn happy.
