Smak på Restaurangen is an ultra hip Stockholm restaurant where flavor reins king. At the heart of this stylish Scandinavian space is a modern culinary concept where gastronomic exploration is encouraged, if not mandated. Based on specific flavors alone, diners select tastings of 3, 5, or 7 small dishes. Fancy wasabi or truffle, tamarind or mint? At Smak på Restaurangen any or all can form the foundation of your meal. Drinks too follow the same concept with offerings revolving around sage, blood orange, and watermelon, for instance. The concept and atmosphere behind Smak på Restaurangen is what makes it one of the most talked about restaurants in Stockholm. Admittedly, the ever-changing list of well-known DJs guest spinning at the bar doesn’t hurt either.
Lina Scheynius was born 1981 in Vänersborg in Sweden and grew up in Trollhättan. She moved away from home at age 16 and currently lives between London and Paris. She works with natural light and a small automatic camera that allows her to move around a lot. Read more

Australian group Pivot have recently signed with the mighty Warp label and — even better (well, for us anyway) — have written a fun Secret Playlist for us. You can see where the many disparate influences have seeped into their latest recording, the beautiful and colourful, O Soundtrack My Heart.
Sydney is not as well known for its great bars as other Australian cities. The city centre is dominated by over-priced style bars, while the suburbs are ruled by beer barns overflowing with terrible music, pokies, and sports. Nestled in the back streets of Surry Hills, surprisingly close to the city, The Cricketer’s Arms bucks the trend, with an open fire-place, great contemporary music selection, comfortable couches, a cosy outdoor area, decent food, free board games, and the laidback vibe that’s now all too rare in Sydney. Black Eyed Dog is the project of Fabio Parrinello, a singer-songwriter from Varese, in northern Italy. His second album, Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy), brims with a brooding intensity, referencing the best British folk ballads of the past.
