Ever notice that Spoonful of Sugar and The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) are eerily similar? This mash-up from statikluft combines video and audio from Mary Poppins and Star Wars, making a creepily convincing case that the beloved nanny may have a dark side. YouTube artist Stephanie Boone also contributes a chorus (along with Julie Andrews, of course.)

The amount of fan tributes to Star Wars must eclipse that of any other nerd extravaganza of the past thirty years. But of all them, this is the one scene that we wished had actually been in Mr Lucas’ imagination. Not too late for an edit?

Have you always wanted to see a steampunk re-imagining of Star Wars? A feudal Japan Star Wars? Western Star Wars? Whatever obscure Star Wars crossover you secretly write fan fiction about, a guy called Silloff has the accompanying action figures.

I was as big a Star Wars fan as anyone else who grew up in the ’80s and I have fond memories of those films, but my enthusiasm for the franchise didn’t survive the first prequel. I honestly felt like George Lucas thought he could get away with spewing garbage across the screen because of how much mileage he got out of the original trilogy, and I could genuinely sense his disdain for his audience. This is why posts like this open letter to Mr. Lucas make me smile inside. He’s a jerk.

Adidas’ new Star Wars kicks are super-stars. The Storm Trooper helmets on shoe tongues are my favorite. I want Chubaka to wear them.

Long before George Lucas’ otherwordly vision was even a twinkle in his starry eyes, these helmets were kicking around Europe on the heads of firefighters. That’s right. Turns out Lucas may have found inspiration in 100 year-old smoke helmets. May the force be with him.

As sick as I am of all things Star Wars, this series of images by French photographer Cedric Delsaux, in which he adds Star Wars characters, droids, AT-ATs, and spaceships into his photographs of real-life, lonely and apocalyptic-looking cityscapes, is done really well. Read more

Steve Thomas has a thing for vintage poster and product art from the early twentieth century and an interest in retro-futuristic art from the mid-twentieth century. That, and a clear love for science fiction, must have led him to create these lovely Star Wars travel posters. Read more

We spoke to Dopepope about his latest Metal Man Project: ‘In the fifth grade, I drew a comic called Metal Man about a humanoid robot that went crazy and pulled knives on people. It’s the most ridiculous thing ever. I was a kid! Anyway, I found the artwork and simply traced the head and the logo exactly as I had them and fell in love with the iconic shapes they’ve created’. Athens, Georgia art rockers Circulatory System have delivered an extraordinary 46-minute album sculpted from five years worth of accumulated sonic experimentation. Signal Morning ricochets across every raw nerve from the poppiest of impulses to the edge of ostensible sanity, without revealing a single cut corner or uninspired change.
