These Horace Warner photos are of local ‘nippers’ (English slang for kids) living around Spitalfields in East London in 1912. The Good Ol’ Days meant kids were deliriously happy playing with a stick and a cabbage. Of course, those days are long gone. But then again, so is rickets and working up chimneys.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
