A free quarterly art fashion and culture publication now in its fourth year, SNAP! Magazine started out as a kind of cult object in the city where we live, Montreal. This fall we launched our 14th issue and with it marked a whole new phase in our business. We’ve taken our magazine nationwide and dramatically increased our distribution.

Although SNAP! Magazine is produced by a core team of just three, each issue we collaborate with a wide range of some of the best creative talent across the country. This issue we got to work with Caroline Mauxion, Karin Demeyer, John Londono, Clara Palardy, Jean Malek and many more, and used our ‘Double D’s’ theme to have a bit of fun.

Exploring everything from Doris Day to David Duchovny to Dirty Dancing and Donnie Darko, the issue is now all across Canada and we are getting so much great feedback.

For those who haven’t yet seen a copy, we also feature each issue online and work really hard to make a website that delivers smart, fresh and diverse content for our web audience. We are in the process of launching a newsletter for our growing network of fans, and to find new ways to promote the new talent we discover every day through our magazine.

Die-hard magazine fans, we are also super excited to explore all the possibilities the web offers for creative expression, entertainment and generating new ideas. Ambitious? You bet!

Montreal’s only free and independent quarterly magazine SNAP! delivers a quirky mix of fashion, art and youth culture in their new 10×14 inch matte paper format. Their twelfth issue hit the streets on October 1 and has a distinct nostalgic emphasis.

The theme is ‘My First’, with each submission reflecting on a memory, a rite of passage, an experience or an anecdote. The issue also features a series by four illustrators who draw from memory My First House, as well as ancinterview with Mexican mixed media artist Marion Sosa for My First Family.

Our friends over at SNAP!, Montreal’s only free and independent arts and lifestyle publication, have just put out their sixth issue — Vagabonds — which, fittingly, celebrates all things foreign, with tales from seasoned travelers as well as new arrivals now calling Montreal home. It also explores the international quartiers of the city and profiles some of the quirkier locals. Eclectic and colourful, it really is the perfect companion for afternoons spent dreaming of where we’d rather be and what we’d rather be doing.

The fifth issue of our favourite Canadian mag, SNAP!, has just hit the streets and it’s literally bursting with all their creative discoveries from downtown Montreal.
The issue’s Hibernation theme offers up a comprehensive winter survival guide, complete with a lesson in poker, some short fiction to pass the time indoors, and the results of their first ever reader-based sex survey. Six pages long, the survey is a funny and local insight into the sex lives and preferences of Montreal’s twenty and thirty-something crowd.
