Branislav Kropilak is a young photographer of Slovakian background who has concentrated on an unusual range of photographic subjects — garages, landings, trains, and lobbies.
If you are grossed out by pubic hair, you don’t deserve to have sex, in my opinion. Nutty Tarts has created a line of whimsical undergarments that remind us that — gasp — we’re mammals!
OK, so who said ice cream had to be boring? First we had the Hoffsicle, now comes this brilliant range of mini ice cream busts from Russian advertising agency Stoyn, who developed these popsicles based on iconic characters such as Marilyn Monroe, Donald Duck, Mario, and Che Guevara. I came across the Dongzhong cave school, which is situated in a Miao village within the Ziyun county, while watching a fascinating BBC documentary series about China the other night. The school, which was built in 1984 and caters for just under 200 students, is considered to be ‘a teaching branch for nearby resident units’. It looks stunning in its ornate beauty, and it must be one hell of a stimulating environment in which to learn. Read more

No Age are doing something different to the mass of noise-laden, guitar-drum duos canvasing the lo-fi airwaves at the moment. I’m just not sure quite what. Their album, Nouns, is receiving top-rate reviews after sell-out crowds after screaming, obsessive fans. The music is simply massive: a vast landscape of heat haze, somehow both tranquil and manic, punctuated by singer Dean Sprouts backdrop of barely intelligible vocals and Randall’s distorted, archaic sounding drums.
