I didn’t see this film when it first came out because I thought it was just another churned out by Seth Rogen. Luckily, he’s only the lead actor, and this picture is actually written and directed by Kevin Smith of Clerks and Chasing Amy fame. Smith’s favorite actors appear throughout, along with his wicked sense of very wrong humor and snappy dialogue. Read more
This paper torso with removable organs was created by Australian artist Horst Kiechle for the Science Lab of the International School Nadi, Fiji.
Creepy Miranda illustrator Aly Bellissimo has transformed Disney Princesses from thin heroines into gigantic, unhealthy, obese caricatures. I’m not sure if there really is a point, but I guess it subconsciously highlights the grave extremity of being too over or underweight.
Says Van She bassist and vocalist Matt Van Schie about the Bush Tetras track — Too Many Creeps — from 1982: ‘I LOOOVE this tune. It opens with a perfect snare roll, and then the counter bass and guitar rhythms make it so cool. The lyrics are even more valid today. They’re one of my favourite bands of all time, and so many people try to do what they did for real. What a time! I wish I was born back then in New York, hanging out with these kids. Ahhhh!!’

At a gig last year Foals were forced to abandon their last song halfway through because the stage was stormed by too many crazed fans. The reason behind the hype they’re creating, both on stage and in the normally merciless media, isn’t immediately clear upon first listen: the sound is less than friendly on the ears, and they don’t employ the same catchy hooks and melodic chorus patterns that shoot your average band to fame in their early years. Threads or Dead is a new Australian-based online clothing store, based in Perth, and selling streetwear and contemporary fashion for both guys and girls. Says site founder Justin Greenwood: ‘As well as stocking some of the more well known brands, we also import a lot of labels exclusively from America, and produce a small range of our own clothing. We want to sell clothing that is unique and often has a story behind it. We don’t want to sell clothing that is available in your average High Street store’. Read more

Baltimore Mural by Josh Van Horne
My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
