Japan’s graphic design master Shigeo Fukuda passed away last month. Fukuda created thousands of optical illusion posters — and some installations — that are so simple, clever and memorable and kept wowing the world for nearly fifty years. Rest in peace. Read more

Micah P. Hinson is like every rustic, broken down, and pieced back together country great that’s ever been. Only hipper and slightly less sombre. This track, Diggin’ A Grave, is a button-up hoe down with a classic pop chorus and a jangly banjo accompaniment. Yup, some folk have all the fun.

Somehow, meme-based blogs never lose their charm. Maybe because they’re just so stupid. The FAIL blog is simply a catalog of the funniest FAIL images on the web.
I haven’t been this excited by a band in a long time. Florida’s Black Kids have crept under — and now over — the radar through a demo and some serious internet buzz from NME and Pitchfork. Not only are they ridiculously good, they’ve also offered their four-song demo — Wizard of Ahhh’s — for free on their MySpace page. Sweet.

Do I like dogs? Yes. Do I like jumpers? Yes. Do I think WARMI’s jumpers with dogs on them are amazing? I sure do! The brand was created in 2008 by French-Colombian designer Sylvia Toth and all the clothes are hand knitted by women weavers of the villages of Tausa and Sutatausa in Colombia. Read more

The Illuminated Sea Cookie Pin by Stephanie Simek mixes underwater wonders and light to add a little sparkle to your wardrobe. The sea cookie, a member of the sand dollar family, is back lit by a white LED. When turned on, the light illuminates all of the creature’s natural patterns and intricacies. Read more
