From the Willy Wonka school of edible fun comes the Chocolate Wonderland, a new theme park constructed entirely from, you guessed it, chocolate and open in Shanghai until February 19. Literally everything on display is made from chocolate: even the replica of the famous ancient Chinese Terracotta Warriors. Remarkable.

For a city that never sleeps, Shanghai is one of those strange cities that has bars and restaurants constantly opening and closing. But hidden amongst the bustle of the city is Monkey Lounge, a hip watering hole where the clientele is unpretentious and the cocktail list is limited but perfect.

Mind you, it’s a little difficult locating the bar. A small monkey statue carved into the door is the only indication you have that you’re at the right place. Buzz yourself in, and punch in some numbers. A maître d will greet you at the door and escort you to one of the snazzy tables. And if cocktails ain’t your thing, check out the whiskey selection.

Chinese artist Liu Jianhua has built a model of the Shanghai skyline using just poker chips and dice. Widely known for his quirky ceramic sculptures, his exhibition Dream in Conflict has just been opened at the Galleria Continua in Italy and features Unreal Scene amongst other works bordering on the surreal.

Australian photographer, Sean Fennessy, was named by Art and Australia Magazine in 2006 as one of the ‘country’s best artists aged under 25′. These photos are from a larger series on Shanghai called Over the Rainbow.
