Williamsburg, Brooklyn, has plenty of music, art, gentrification, and hipsters, but it was missing one thing: a sex shop! I can’t wait to swing by the opening of Shag on November 20, for live music, art, and, yes, body painting! You just can’t beat sex in the city.

The Infectious design community creates cool device skins, adhesive wall art, and car decals, using the talents of artists such as Dalek, Tara McPherson, Shag and Junko Mizuno, among many others. To celebrate their new status as the home for Skate Deck Design Community, Popdeck, they are currently holding a contest to design the first five decks to be added to the Infectious catalog. There’s no theme and first place prize wins a recession-friendly $1000. Sweet. Read more
I just saw this installation called The Transfinite at the Park Ave Armory in New York. It’s like being put into an ocean of precise, meticulously planned data. Incredibly high-powered projectors shoot Ikeda’s visuals onto a 54 x 81 foot floor and a 54 x 40 foot wall, as speakers blast a perfectly synchonized musical piece. Read more
Some people put a lot of energy into creative gadgets to smoke pot out of. I’m way more interested in things to grill on, and this Hot-Pot BBQ, a small grill and herb garden in one, is right up my alley.

UK-based one-man-band Sieben has a new album out: As They Should Sound. Frontman Matt Howden builds songs with a loop pedal and a violin, which he uses for rhythm and melody. His sound is wonderfully sophisticated and cabalistic, with a particularly British sense of lyricism.

Set up in 2011, Rebel Unlit is a printing collaboration between London based Artists Neil Butler and Shanney Mulcahy. They make short run screen-printed t-shirts and limited edition prints from their studio in East London. All the t shirts are fair traded and printed by hand and, as a result, each one is unique.
