Grown men who get excited over Kid Robot products and ‘adult’ toys generally give me the heebie-jeebies, but Lego’s new Lego Architecture division gets me pretty excited. Soon you’ll be able to build iconic buildings such as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum, in addition to the Taj Mahal, the Sears Tower, the Seattle Space Needle, and others already available.
Scott G. Brooks’ usage of naturalistic light juxtaposed with his exaggerated and distorted features make his straight portraits as surreal as his more elaborately composed fantastical pieces. Read more
I’ve been living in Greenpoint Brooklyn for a couple of years now and one of the highlights is brunch on the weekends. After living in Crown Heights for seven years, where your only choices are Tom’s Diner or Popeye’s Fried Chicken, it’s an amazing change of pace. Brooklyn Label is a classic, old Brooklyn style restaurant with a great menu and when you’re a regular, you get seated before the masses. It’s definitely worth the trip to Greenpoint. Artist David Shrigley’s animated music video for Blur is so simple, so sweet, so perfect. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it, yet it still makes me cry every time.
I usually steer clear of anything smelling of disco-breaks: the thought just bores me. But with Padded Cell’s new release, Night Must Fall, I see a bit of a U-turn on the horizon. There’s something really interesting going on here: it’s a cocktail of 80’s swank laced with woozy narcotic undertones and flecked with snappy drum loops: weird, undeniably dark and ominous, but nonetheless pretty damn satisfying. WE'RE POSTING / SOME OF THE BEST

Forget battery powered vehicles. Cars made from ice are the future of transportation: no pollution, no honking horns, no painful rap music blasting out of souped up stereos. And if they melt, they melt. You just swim the rest of the way down the slipstream.
