As I sit writing, I can’t shake the feeling that I’m breaking an unwritten code among travellers. How do you write about a destination that’s paradise because no one knows about it? You tell the right people. So before I change my mind, here goes. Take a boat about two hours off the south coast of Cambodia, and you’ll reach a tropical hideaway called Lazy Beach on the Island of Koh Rong Saloem. Run by two English guys who’ve redefined the meaning of chillin’, it’s turquoise waters and white sands are everything you’d expect. From beachfront bungalows with snorkelling right off the beach, to a restaurant that cooks up the local fishermen’s daily catch. This is one deserted island you won’t mind being stranded on.
His name echoes those of colonels and soldiers who fought in the American civil war. But far from that, William Fitzsimmons is actually an obscure songwriter from Jackson, Illinois. Read more

Woah, we’ve gotten to the postmodern phase of flash game history where social commentary, appropriation of ironic DIY style, and surrealist absurdity are the order of the day. That said, Jason Nelson’s i made this. you play this. we are enemies. is pretty fun, if you manage to see through the frenetic aesthetic to figure out what’s going on.
When I was a kid, I used to make all kinds of things out of cardboard boxes – tanks, cars, houses, robots, etc. The Box Doodle Project invites people to do it all over again, recycling cigarette packs, tissue boxes, emptied care packages, and all manner of cardboard containers into works of art. So, like Blu and Dan Witz, Julian Beever came into our lives like a breath of fresh air. His work is stunning, mind-boggling stuff: he manages to create a world ‘inside’ a pavement with his 3D pastel illustrations, tricking the eye into believing a dimension exists right below our very feet.
