I really dig artists that have a knack for crafting murals out of different goods. I’ve seen toast, plectrums, handwriting and now corks. Chicago-based Scott Gunderson perfectly reused a multitude of eco-friendly corks to create this meticulous face montage, and many more. Some portraits use 9,000 corks and take up to 50 hours to produce.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
