A major name in fair-trade and ethical fashion since the early 1990′s and former creative director of the ethical jewelry company Made, Sam Ubdhi is a world famous artist who is now in collaboration with People Tree. Ubdhi is well-known in eco circles for her handcrafted pieces that use recycled materials (such as horn, bone, and tusks) from the food industry. Self-taught in jewelry-making, Ubdhi is a true eco force to be reckoned with.
It must be in the jeans. The offspring of musical hedonists Richard and Linda Thompson, Teddy Thompson is one hell of a talented songwriter. Since his debut self-titled album came out in 2000, Thompson has been busy working on collaborative projects (including the ‘I’m Your Man’ tribute to Leonard Cohen) and solo recordings. His latest album, Up Front & Down Low, is a typically skittish and melodic collection of folk tinged melodrama. We spoke to him recently. Read more

In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts. The images were selected from almost 500 small artworks created on moleskine paper, inspired by vintage pornography and a trip to Japan. Read more
