In December 2008, while a deserted warehouse in Manchester was beginning to inspire the city’s creative instinct, just across the Irwell a breakthrough film was being completed about ahd168, a depressed and broken droid living on Salford’s streets. This micro-documentary ignited the viral furnace that is YouTube, and he was met with as much sympathy as his makers Mi were showered with plaudits. He’s now back on his feet, and has a job.

In this clip, Australian cricket legend and founder of the Waugh Foundation, Steve Waugh, chooses Daniel as his subject - a 19 year old man who has spinal muscular atrophy. His robotic arms allows him to do simple things like pet his dog and comb his hair.
