When I was in high school, I’d sometimes eat a Slim Jim at the end of the day and pass out, face-down at a table in the little snack shop in the school’s basement. I’m not sure if it was the processed meat, the florescent lighting, or my awkward sleeping position, but invariably I’d have horrible nightmares. They looked not unlike Saddo Jdero’s artwork. Luo Yang is a photographer and graphic designer from Shenyang, China, whose work is currently being featured in a solo show at Taikang Top Space in Beijing.
A lot of people have asked us where the name Lost At E Minor comes from and what the phrase implies. Well, several years ago I came across a compilation of obscure electro music called Famous When Dead, which is off the commendably experimental German label, Playhouse. One of the tracks on the album was by the production duo, Light Fantastic, and was titled Lost At C Minor. Read more

Japanese artist Toshiya Tsunoda’s field recordings will blow your mind without blowing your eardrums. By placing sensitive microphones inside empty objects, such as bottles and hollow logs, he captures vibrations inaudible to the human ear. Layers of these sounds are artfully cut and composed to produce brute, mesmerising work that challenges our perception of music. Read more
