This is so cool, a sweet reminder of the innocent days of yesteryear and a window into the busy days of tomorrow. Australian company Rebound Books recycle Little Golden Books, those ubiquitous accompaniments to any balanced and well-meaning childhood, and turn them into simple, cute 2009 Diaries made from 100 percent recycled paper and vegetable based inks. I got sent one, which was promptly hijacked by my wife, who swooned over its feel-good exterior and playful themery.
Adam Bartlett’s illustrations take me back to a time when Saturday mornings were all Coco Pops and soft drinks, a soft, lazy pillow and a well-worn position in front of the TV. When the funny faces, sounds, and storylines of the bright-eyed cartoons somehow seemed more real than the scattered world around me. On this cold, windswept Brooklyn morning, it’s a wonderfully sharp burst of mid-80s nostalgia. Read more
There’s something folk arty about JJ Cromer’s work, and it would certainly translate well onto textiles. If Joan Miro had spent time in Africa and set up shop in rural New Jersey, his work might look something like Cromer’s. Read more

I have known Hayden for almost twenty years. He has always released quality music and that is why he can wait four years between releases and his fans are still there. His latest album — In Field & Town — went straight into heavy rotation in our home and I think will extend his fan base further than even he might like.
From this artist selection of t-shirts comes this Christina Koustospirou illustration, silkscreened on a limited edition t-shirt, and distributed in a vinyl sleeve, with a biography of the artist on the back of the sleeve. Every t-shirt is numbered and signed by the artist, and comes in organic cotton.

Baltimore Mural by Josh Van Horne
My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
New York-based artist Suzuki Mariko has made this handmade felt doll set of a mom and happy baby bear sitting on a sofa. At just three inches wide and two inches high, it’s perfect for your side table. It can even watch TV with you. Aw! We have it for sale in the Lost At E Minor store. Read more
