Taking inspiration from the work of the originator of this origami artform, Professor Masahiro Chatani, Amsterdam-based Ingrid Siliakus does paper replicates of the ‘buildings of master architects and intricate abstract sculptures’.
We are immersed in a fast, accelerating environment with no time for contemplation. We devour things without retaining much. If you’re in New Orleans and you love barbeque, make sure to stop by The Joint in the Bywater neighborhood. Their brisket is outstanding, and for under $11 for a pound of the fatty, delicious beef and two sides, it’s a super good deal. Their ribs are also pretty good, but seriously, the brisket is the jam.

Yellow Fever are a great duo from Austin that harkens back to the girl-fronted indie bands of the 90s. At times Breeders-ish, at others referencing garag-y sounds from other eras, their simple and heartfelt songs remind us of why we all thought mismatched Converse and unkempt androgyny was so cool in the first place.

Seriously, all jokes aside, we really need to tear ourselves away from our computers every once in a while. These shirts, on sale at Threadless, may be intended as a light-hearted jab at modern culture, but who will be laughing when our hands become gnarled claws from decades of ceaseless typing and our spinal columns have fused solid from lack of movement? Set up in 2011, Rebel Unlit is a printing collaboration between London based Artists Neil Butler and Shanney Mulcahy. They make short run screen-printed t-shirts and limited edition prints from their studio in East London. All the t shirts are fair traded and printed by hand and, as a result, each one is unique.
