New York based graphic designer Evan Robertson has created posters inspired by his favourite quotes from literary geniuses such as Fitzgerald, T.S Eliot and Hemingway. Each time he came across a ‘little jewel’ of a sentence” he would ‘let the words be a springboard for an illustration’. He hopes to engage both the mind and the eye with these drawings, as part of his Illustration Quotation Project.

This website is just great. What’s your best bit of worst feedback from a client? Ireland’s creative community got together to make theirs into limited edition posters in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital, and the results, billed as ‘a creative catharsis’ make for a wealth of ingeneously rendered hilarity. A lot of frustration released, you feel, and a lot of money raised for charity – fantastic all round.

In 1938 after the Japan-China war, Japanese government and the Red Cross teamed up to create a series of precautionary posters concerning the Anti-Aircraft Defense Law. This law required citizens to be aware of the possibility of gas attacks and the protective measures they should take incase one actually happens. These posters demonstrate proper gas mask-wearing techniques, what to do if gas comes in contact with your skin, and even how to protect your children.

Which I guess is true in many ways, but the bottom line is they showcase numerous artistic renditions of movie posters, which span everything from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre to Duck Dodgers and the 24 1/2th Century, and everything in-between. Apparently the posters sell out within minutes, and sometimes even seconds, but you can still check out the archive and eventually pick up your jaw from the ground after viewing all of the awesome work that has beed done.
