Over the streets of Agueda, Portugal, hundreds of colorful umbrellas float above pedestrians’ heads. The umbrellas are hung from promenades overlooking the streets, providing both shade and a cool view to those walking under them. Luckily, photographers Patricia Almeida and Diana Tavares documented this amazing event for those who were not able to experience it in person.

I spent a day last week shooting and driving around various dirt roads, mountains, forests, beachside roads and small villages on the Coast of Portugal. The nature is amazing , the towns are stunning, and the people are friendly. What more could you want?

I spent the past two weeks in one of the most amazing travel destinations I have ever been to. The Archipelago of the Azores is composed of nine volcanic islands situated in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, and is located about 1,500 km (930 mi) west from the European coast, and about 3,900 km (2,400 mi) from the east coast of North America.

The Portugese Islands are as diverse as they are stunning. One moment you think you’ve landed in a set for the next Jurassic Park film; shortly after, you wander around between cows like you’re in the European alps, or along a deserted windy lava coastline. And for a treat, you can take a hot bath in a steaming volcanic spring surrounded by a lush tropical flora. They say the Azores offers it all: whale watching, canyoning, kayaking in beautiful volcanic lakes, hiking along stunning coastlines, more waterfalls than you can count, and all of it without being eaten alive by mosquitos. I took a couple of photos and shared them on a tumblr, for those of you who are interested in seeing more.

Wasted Rita is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Portugal who describes herself as a ‘rough mix between Jesus Christ and punk-rock’. Rita is having her second-ever solo show, Fuck You World. I’m Out, between April 28 and May 24 at Ó! Galeria in Porto. And, yes, her artwork contains a healthy amount of obscenities.

The brilliantly conceptual yet functional creation by LIKEarchitects’, titled BusStopSymbiosis, is part of an ongoing challenge in Porto, Portugal, to improve the daily life of local residents. As our friends at Wooster Collective report: ‘Artists were asked to imagine temporary structures for the public space … the proposed ideas had to be simple, quick, and go in and come out with only a light touch on the city’.
