Portland-based Sarah Gottesdiener creates lush, vibrant, and wonderfully ornate poster art, illustration and design work. Her paintings and videos were recently exhibited at Miami Basel as part of a show presented by Deitch Projects. Oh, and somehow she manages to find the time to play in a band called Gay Deceivers, whose debut album comes out on Cherchez La Femme Projects in February.
There is an inner hippie in me that really really loves these painted trees that artist Curtis Killorn has been installing around Colorado. If you go to Burning Man this year, you can see some of Killorn’s trees. Read more
The pre-eminent scientist Stephen Hawking has envisioned what our most far flung neighbors might look like, using the latest computer technology, for the new documentary series, Into The Universe. This awesome promo video for the Lost At E Minor site was created by our friends over at New York-based design studio, Lifelongfriendshipsociety. It’s all about looking into a black mirror and seeing the creative energy burst back out at you. We think it’s very cool and the first in what we hope will be a series of short videos exploring what it really means to be lost at e minor. Hit us up if you’d like to have a go at creating one.

I don’t intend on tempting any grape cravings which some borderline AAs may be experiencing, but everyone deserves some red after a long day. Oh man, close your eyes if you will and transport yourself to a place far, far away; where disco is in, polyester is up, and everyone bows long and deep to the gravitational pull of the almighty afro. Sister Self-Doubt by The Shakes takes me there. It takes me front and centre, feeling that slippery, incidenary groove as it crunches my spine and works its way to my feet. Hmmm, the feet. It’s always in the feet. And now I’m dancing and twisting, onwards and upwards, like a manic spinning top thinking nothing of today and even less of tomorrow.

We love the range of ultra-stylish ties created by New York-based designers, Ryan Sovereign and William Beck. They’re both graduates of the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Industrial Design and Sculpture respectively, and have been long time collaborators both musically and visually.
