David OReilly’s animation, Please Say Something, is one of the most sophisticated I’ve seen, narratively speaking. It tackles the subject of dysfunctional relationships with a Bergman-esque disjointedness, cast with a cute but tragic cat-and-mouse pair who live in a distant future. The film is emotionally resonant, to say the least — watch with caution, it could make or ruin your day depending on your mood.

New York-based Japanese artist Shusaku Arakawa designed this small apartment block in 2005 in the Tokyo suburb of Mitaka in conjunction with his poet partner, Madeline Gins. According to the SushiLog: ‘Painted in eye-catching blue, pink, red, yellow and other bright colors, the building resembles the indoor playgrounds that attract toddlers at fast-food restaurants. Inside, each apartment features a dining room with a grainy, surfaced floor that slopes erratically, a sunken kitchen and a study with a concave floor. Electric switches are located in unexpected places on the walls so you have to feel around for the right one. A glass door to the veranda is so small you have to bend to crawl out’. Read more
Lisa Fiore’s work is subtlety conceptualized and incredibly painted, offering a calm, clean and neatly designed image, while also possessing haunting, conceptual ideas. She works within still life and landscape narrative. Read more
Analog electronics by British outfit Belbury Poly (Jim Jupp and Eric Zann) make me believe machines have souls and the ghosts of obsolete recording devices are haunting the dusty stacks of libraries debating the relevance of 60s avant-garde music and counterculture.

Méduse is a self-initiated project that I started while studying in London. I was printing a jellyfish inspired series of t-shirts and bags which I was selling or giving to friends. The concept has evolved a bit since then. I try to find time to launch two series’ a year, available only online.
