Hating pineapple on pizza is like hating cute little fluffy bunnies eating raspberries. But you know what? There are actually people out there who swear that pizza is better without pineapple (I know, very weird). One pineapple-hating person in particular hated pineapple so much that she’s going down in yearbook history with a quote dedicated to pizza and pineapple.
Most pizzerias are basic – a counter, a few chairs, and a case for cold drinks. Nothing special, really. But travel to Fiji and you’ll find the world’s most picturesque pizzeria, surrounding by turquoise water and sunny skies.
Grease in your mouth, not on your hands. Maryland Institute College of Arts student Yinan Wang might have just changed the pie game forever with her project ‘Toss’, a packaging design that features miniature pizza boxes for individual slices.
There’s no doubt about it. Walter White was one smooth operator. And when he threw that pizza onto the roof out of frustration, we all cheered him on. But please, if you’re in Albuquerque and visit the filming location of that pizza throw, don’t – whatever you do – throw a pizza on the roof yourself. Breaking Bad’s creator is begging you.
Because Aussies know great pizza, and because Johnny di Francesco’s a world champion pizza-maker, we’re all treated to the newest pie on the menu: the 99-cheese pizza. Called the Novantanove Formaggio (99-cheese pizza), this pie from 400 Gradi in Melbourne is created using a ‘super cheese’. This super cheese is used as a base and is created by melting down 94 cheeses in a pit.
The internet is already filled with people putting their skills to stuff that are totally unnecessary and being celebrated for it. Surely one more wouldn’t hurt? In which case, how about a round of applause for this professional Japanese frisbee thrower who can hurl a frozen pizza into a microwave inside an apartment from across […]
Don’t you just hate it when that home delivery meal takes such a long time to arrive you might as well have visited the restaurant in person in the first place? I certainly do, and for this reason alone, I may just uproot and migrate to Mumbai, India, because their Franceso’s Pizzeria has come up with a nifty airborne solution. There will be no more excuses about thunder storms, traffic jams, or the delivery boy who suffers from amnesia.
Don’t worry, your local pizza joint isn’t selling scorpion pizza…yet. But if you’re in the mood for it (I mean, who wouldn’t be?), you should head to the Calgary Stampede, because that’s where you’ll enjoy yourself a slice of the deliciousness that is scorpion pizza. Looks like it’s just regular cheese pizza topped with scorpions […]
Move over, Cronut, we’ve found our new food abomination: the pizza cake. Boston Pizza is currently holding, ‘Pizza Game Changers’, a competition to find out the most innovative and game changing pizza idea there is by way of fan voting. So far, the cake pizza – a six-layer dish stuffed with cheese, pepperoni, ham, and sausage – has been the fan favourite, garnering more than 3, 100 votes.
MREs (meals read to eat) in the military can be bland at the best of times, but researchers at a U.S. military lab in Massachusetts are ‘closing in on a recipe that doesn’t require refrigeration or freezing’ for pizza. A food scientist at the U.S. Army Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center says, ‘You […]
Who would have thought that an illustrator from the wonderful land of sushi dedicates a series of drawings to profane pizza? But the “P is for Pizza” series speaks for itself and as well as for the artist Kimiaki Yaegashi aka Okimi. The Tokyo-based illustrator and graphic designer seems to be a huge fan of […]
Glasgow-based pizzeria owner Domenico Crolla does more than just make delicious pizzas, he creates edible works of art. Crolla makes detailed portraits of pop culture icons such as Tom Ford, Anna Wintour, Rhianna, Marilyn Monroe, and many more. He even makes pizzas with Louboutins on them, with their iconic red soles made from tomato sauce. […]
The Capo Hotel blends old world Italian charm with the modern flash of glass and polished metals. The hotel, situated in Shanghai, was voted Best Restauarant 2013 by the China Tatler. And no wonder! Fresh, oven baked pizzas and scrumptious cocktails are readily available to enjoy in this super cool atmosphere. I love the strange classical art found throughout.
‘Use energy wisely’. ‘Save the Earth’. ‘Protect the environment’. Makes sense, but these pro-eco slogans can get a tad preachy. And the benefits aren’t immediately tangible, are they? To work around this mindblock, Copenhagen-based creative agency Anew’s awareness campaign for a heating and energy recycling company got them setting up a pop-up pizzeria and using […]
