It’s refreshing to find a Pinterest board that isn’t full of bridal shower ideas or decorative food. Which is why I’m loving this gem: the Best of Taylor Hanson. It also seems like a great way for a Hanson fan like me to control my appreciation in a tasteful way, rather than creepin’ around on a site like this.

That would be politically incorrect, and we all know that to survive in industry these days, it pays to remain correct to every social norm imaginable. Controversy may still be raging about Pinterest and copyright issues around the images people upload, but the growth of the site contirnues unabated. Italian designer Gennaro Varriale recently created Pingram, a Pinterest, Instagram mash-up in less than seven hours, enabling you to view Instagram photos in the same way you peruse the pins on Pinterest.

There can be no doubt that Pinterest is a wicked social media platform, two million users will attest to that. But there can also be no denying that is almost cringeworthingly girly: there are more wedding dresses, hairstyles and baked good recipes on there than there are Bieber fans on Twitter. So what is a bloke to do? The answer, it seems, is to find something more MANteresting. It kind of makes sense: guys like to share stuff and waste time on the Internet, too. They just prefer things like bacon and cars.

Websites like Tumblr, Pinterest, and Piccsy (shameless plug) are changing the way people relate to images by making everyone a curator of their own aesthetic corner of the web. This is a great form of new media that’s going to go through major growth – both in regards to adoption and technology – in coming years. Pantonism is a great example of what can be done with this technology, and combines my love of fashion, technology, and the arts seamlessly.
