You may associate colour pencils with childhood doodles adorning refrigerators. But Italian artist Marco Mazzoni shows the true potential of this under-appreciated medium. Drawing inspiration from Italian folklore, this Milan-based artist depicts nature with a dark, dreamlike twist, without a paintbrush in sight. Time to buy some classy magnets, I’d say.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
