It may have only had a two year shelf-life, but the cool packaging for OK Soda lives on. Yup, this was about as close as the 90s ever got to true style, unless you count Patrick Swayze’s haircut. And I don’t. Ok Soda, a product from the Coca-Cola company, (really, who would have thought that they had any taste? Literally), was on the market between 1993 and 1995. It was aggressively marketed at the Generation X demographic using ‘unusual advertising tactics’. For instance, each can came with one of ten statements from the Ok Manifesto, profound wisdom such as ‘Please wake up every morning knowing that things are going to be OK’ and ‘The better you understand something, the more OK it turns out to be’. Ouch! There was even an OK hotline, just in case, y’know, you needed reassurance. The design of the cans was based around the visual aesthetic of underground comics. Which probably explains why it was out of production by 1995.
The ONEHUNDRED Project is an experiment from the artist Kid Grandios. He started it in 2009 with the idea of creating posters including landscape and grunge elements. One Hundred posters later, the project is done and it turned out truly amazing. Read more

Cloud Control have just unravelled a newly recorded track, Gold Canary, from their forthcoming 2010 album. It’s straight up pastoral Blue Mountains goodness. I actually heard it live earlier this year and it sounded quite rad.
