Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

The work of emerging Ohio artist Mehgan Trice is subtle yet beautifully realised. Having ‘progressed from markers and watercolors to acrylics and oil, she has recently been taking art classes through the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. Aside from her fine art, Trice is also at work on a short-stop motion animation film’.

Only a band from Akron, Ohio could come up with the whole de-evolution theory. Apparently Devo had business cards that read ‘Chinese computer rock ‘n’ roll, scientific music + vis. arts for beautiful mutants’. This track, Jocko Homo, is one of my favorites of theirs.
