The work of emerging Ohio artist Mehgan Trice is subtle yet beautifully realised. Having ‘progressed from markers and watercolors to acrylics and oil, she has recently been taking art classes through the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. Aside from her fine art, Trice is also at work on a short-stop motion animation film’. Read more
A major talent in design and illustration is London-based, Australian creative, Sharon Chai. Chai and I worked together a few years back at Stylorouge designing record covers and the like. She has recently been briefed by MacMillan to create design and illustrations for a special edition of Lewis Carroll’s classic, Alice In Wonderland.
If you’re love separating your Skittles by color, you might as well do something creative with them like Matt McManis. Like make your favorite Mario and Pac Man characters. If you’re feeling a little ambitious, create a self-portrait out of America’s favorite candy. Read more
I don’t get Flight of The Concords. I just don’t find it funny. I also don’t get most comedy these days. It’s so derivative and clichéd. Everyone wants the same laughs. I like comedy that pushes the boundaries in strange ways. Fonejack is one underground unit that have had me rolling around on the floor with their real life skits. Read more

Last weekend I went to the Golden West in Baltimore to check out the What Cheer? Brigade, a marching band from Providence. I wasn’t expecting much, but when they opened with a cover of Slayer’s Raining Blood, my knees buckled. I think I could hear a musak version of that riff, and I’d still bang my head. The rest of the band’s set was just as riotous, with people dancing so hard, you’d think we were at Mardi Gras. I haven’t had that much fun at a show in ages.

We love the range of ultra-stylish ties created by New York-based designers, Ryan Sovereign and William Beck. They’re both graduates of the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in Industrial Design and Sculpture respectively, and have been long time collaborators both musically and visually. The return of the Brionvega rr226
Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
