One of my favourite bands has just launched a Kickstarter call to complete a documentary that has been 16 years in the making, including some newfound camcorder footage of the band in their early days. They’ve made their pledge promises as fun as their songs too — a pledge of $1 or more would make you ‘a friend to man and you will not be forgotten’. Or you can pledge $1,000 and own either the 10 ft dress that frontman Kevin Barnes wore throughout the Hissing Fauna tour, or a tear-away jacket he wore on the Late Night with Conan O’Brien show.

Taking place at the Shinnecock Reservation, in Southampton, New York, the Escape To New York festival runs between August 5-7 and features an electric line-up of acts including Patti Smith, Ed Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Of Montreal, The Psychedelic Furs, Chairlift, and Tiger Love.

The festival, curated by Fred Fellowes, the creative director and founder of The Secret Garden Party in the UK, also showcases delicious food, art Installations curated by Winkel & Balktick, performance art, experimental theater, and high-end camping, aka ‘glamping’.
