Holly Thoburn has traveled the world photographing decaying walls, doorways and surfaces from places as diverse as London, Berlin, India and Australia. For her forthcoming exhibition at No Walls Gallery in Brighton, some of the best of these photographs are recreated into densely layered and detailed canvases, each having been on a journey and story of it’s own. Scratching Beneath the Surface brings together a collection of works drawing on over 10 years of inspiration. It’s on now and runs until December 2.
With his second solo show, UK artist I-LIB (aka, I Lurk in Bushes) explores the visually strange by intertwining folkloric imagery, occult symbolism, black magic, shamanism and voodoo. I-LIBs new body of work features a mix of inks, oils, spray paint, charcoal, graphite, wax and more, using a combination of diverse mediums from illustrations, paintings and printing to sculptures and installations.
