The winners of Nikon’s annual Small World microscope photography contest have just been announced, and out of over 2,000 images, 20 of the best photomicrograph entries were chosen. In this selection of winners, you can see a wide variety of stunning microscopic subjects. The first place winner is an image of the blood-brain barrier in a zebrafish embryo, which Nikon believes to be the first image of this subject matter ever captured in a live animal.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Director of Photography, Piers McGrail, in Dublin. See the work of another Irish creative, director Stephen Walsh, as captured by Piers in this sublime and sensuous promo which was shot on a RedOne with Nikon lenses.
