This is totally creeping me out but apparently UK artist Gigi Barker feels otherwise for she has created a line of furniture with pieces that look, feel and smell like human skin. Do we really need so much human contact? What’s more, she has also infused them with human pheromones and aftershave.
Since 2008, English musician and producer Theo Keating has been making music under the moniker Fake Blood. Trashing the rule book and shying away from all forms of publicity, including interviews and recognition of his actual name, Keating has become something of an enigma – wanting fans to enjoy his music without any preconceptions. Owen Gatley, an illustrator based in Berlin, has made some wonderful maps of London, Paris and New York. Using symbols to show where major landmarks such as London’s Big Ben and New York’s Statue of Liberty are, Gatley has created a unique view of the famous cities. After being a part of Newcastle four piece The Karma Cops, Jess Moxey and Stef Threadgate finally realised their dream of being a two piece and formed Hey Lady! After only months on the scene, the two rocking ladies have self-released a four track EP. Being only vocals, guitar, and drums it would be expected that the sound wouldn’t be that big but the girls have defied the odds. Incorporating layered vocals, glockenspiel samples, and a pretty unique guitar style, the EP has a really prominent low end.
